The Curriculum
East Worlington Primary School works towards the areas specified in the National Curriculum. The Governors have agreed to adopt the Devon Curriculum Statement, a copy of which is available in school. 
We provide varied opportunities for learning. We believe that all children should acquire the basic skills in order to develop and extend their personal knowledge and understanding linked to their individual abilities. We aim to make all learning situations meaningful and stimulating, capitalising on the interests and strengths of the staff. Besides developingf maths and language skills we encourage an understanding of the world in its broadest sense, past, present, future, peoples and cultures. This work is often organised through inter-disciplinary projects, where geography, history, technology and science are studied alongside the arts, health education and religion. The contents of projects vary from term to term, different emphasis in a range of subject areas. 
Suitable television and radio programmes are incorporated to supplement and reinforce learning, and the Schools Resources Service provide us with exhibits to give the children first hand experience. ICT is taught as a separate subject and is also used across the curriculum to support, reinforce and extend learning.Parents and members of the community also help us to extend our studies in school.
